Travellers using Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) should brace for a significant rise in parking costs, especially for overnight stays. Beginning 1 Oct 2024, parking fees at the airport will see a sharp increase, with the rate for overnight parking soaring from ₱300 to a hefty ₱1,200 for cars. The adjustment, aimed at covering maintenance and improvements to the airport’s parking facilities, comes just in time for the busy holiday travel season.

The new rates apply across all four of NAIA's terminals. While Terminals 1, 2, and 4 offer open-air parking, Terminal 3 provides a multi-level covered option. Along with the dramatic rise in overnight rates, hourly parking charges will also see a hike:
Cars: The first two hours will cost P50, with an additional ₱25 per hour afterward. The overnight charge is ₱1,200.
Motorcycles: The first two hours will cost ₱20, with an additional ₱10 per hour. The overnight charge is ₱480.
Buses: The first two hours will cost ₱100, with an additional ₱50 per hour. The overnight charge is ₱2,400.
Additionally, there is a 10-minute grace period for quick drop-offs and pickups. However, exceeding 24-hour parking increments will result in extra hourly fees. Lost tickets will incur an extra charge of ₱500, on top of regular parking fees.
This rate hike is being implemented following a memo from NAIA’s Leasing and Commercial Affairs Department. The memo indicates that the increase is necessary to ensure the ongoing maintenance and potential upgrades of the airport’s parking areas, though specific details of the improvements have yet to be revealed.
This change is part of the broader set of improvements that NAIA is undergoing, following a recent P170.6-billion rehabilitation deal. This revamp aims to modernise the ageing terminal complex and improve operational efficiency, including its infrastructure.

With these new parking fees, many travellers may rethink their transportation plans to and from the airport. Alternatives like carpooling, ride-hailing services, or getting dropped off by friends or family may help save on these increased parking costs. As the holiday season approaches, it’s an additional cost that air travellers will need to factor into their plans.
