Holidays are usually meant for family reunions. Are you sure you’d want to spend Christmas without them? Homesickness is a real struggle, and it hits even the best of us sometimes. This season may make you even lonelier when you decide to be away from your family. Oh, and think about the guilt trip from your relatives you’ll probably have to suffer for the next Christmases to come if you decide to skip this year’s annual family gathering. Doesn’t sound too good, does it?

Family reunions also mean balikbayans crowding up the airports with tons of pasalubong. It’s usually either that or huge family trips abroad. Basically, almost every tourist spot would be full during the holidays. It’s guaranteed. If you can’t deal with long queues or crowded spaces, you might want to rethink your holiday travel.

It’s peak travel season, so prices will definitely soar higher than usual. Are you ready to pay unreasonable amounts of cash this month?

This shouldn’t be a problem, unless your work revolves around the tourism industry. Or if you’ve used up all your leaves. As much as we love the idea of travel is life, it just won’t happen if you forego the job that actually pays for your trip.

Sadly, some people use the holiday cheer to take advantage of travellers. In fact, some tourist-friendly countries are reportedly more prone to terrorism during the holidays. Burglars are often on the lookout for empty homes during holidays. It would be wise to hold your travel itinerary from the public, just to be safe!
