Victory Liner Goes Back to Roots in Divisoria With a New Drop & Go Branch

Divisoria is more than just a name. Propped in between the busy districts of Tondo and Binondo, this commercial centre has no defined borders; and yet everyone knows where it is and what it’s best for — bargain shopping. But for Victory Liner, Divisoria goes above and beyond being a haven for vendors and hagglers. It is also, in fact, its cradle.

“Manila has always been close to our heart,” Operations Manager Aleks Briones tells TripZilla Philippines. “Divisoria is part of who we are as Victory Liner.”

This month, the company celebrates its years of service by bringing Victory Liner back to its roots. Its Drop & Go Divisoria branch is now well available to cater to all Manileños who need to send and receive packages across Luzon. As usual, Drop & Go Divisoria promises good service and delivery within 48 hours.

Victory Liner through the years: giving the service that is best

Before becoming what it is today, Victory Liner was once a one-terminal bus company. In 1945, its inaugural branch sat in Calle Azcarraga (now Claro M. Recto Avenue) corner Juan Luna Street in Divisoria. Founder Jose Isaac Hernandez acted as the sole bus driver and mechanic, and his brother-in-law Leonardo was the conductor.

Evidently, Victory Liner has pressed on through the years, now carrying its slogan, “We move people better… safer.” As the transportation industry propels towards a new normal, the company has continued to evolve into what its customers need.

Beyond its sustained effort to adapt to shifting consumer demands, Victory Liner has always been one step ahead of the curve.

Victory Liner launched Drop & Go, a cargo padala service, years before the pandemic ensued. Today, the service has only improved to cater to the growing need for safe and convenient deliveries, offering cashless payments and 24/7 services at select branches. Because of its accessible locations and reliable assistance, Drop & Go has fast become one of the top couriers in the Philippines.

Drop & Go Divisoria: an homage to Victory Liner’s humble beginnings

Victory Liner has always planned to build a Drop & Go Divisoria branch as a tribute to its roots; but recently, with more and more customers flocking to its Sampaloc terminal, the company decided to open the branch sooner rather than later.

“Divisoria is where all the small and medium-sized enterprises or SMEs get their supplies from. So it’s been really busy since we opened,” Briones tells us. “Stores in the area are smaller, so space management has been a challenge. What we’ve been doing is taking advantage of the proximity of our Sampaloc terminal and moving the items Divisoria processed once the store fills up.”

To date, the branch has been undoubtedly helpful for small business owners who get their supplies from Divisoria. “Drop & Go’s plan is really to expand in areas where we can help SMEs,” Briones reveals. “So far, we are seeing positive results in this plan. We are currently looking for other areas where commerce is heavy and we will progress from there.”

Like the above branches, Drop & Go Divisoria offers padala rates from ₱85. However, the overall pricing still depends on the weight of the cargo and the distance of the delivery. You may find more information about the freight rates here. In addition, you can pay for the service using the Victory Liner Premiere Card, where you will get rewards points for each transaction.
