As part of its ongoing transformational projects, the UAE is automating the health insurance process for tourist visas through an electronic platform. This platform will manage the issuance and pricing of health insurance packages from all major insurance providers in the UAE. Tourists can now easily select the appropriate health insurance while applying for their visas online via the ICP app or official website, ensuring a seamless and convenient process.
Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director-General of the ICP, emphasised the project’s advantages: “The project allows tourists to obtain health insurance electronically while applying for their visas through our services system.” This initiative not only supports the UAE’s thriving tourism sector but also strengthens the healthcare system by ensuring visitors are covered during their stay.
This innovative approach aligns with the 'We Are the Emirates 2031' vision, which encompasses a series of qualitative projects designed to have a substantial impact within a short timeframe. By integrating health insurance with tourist visas, the UAE aims to attract more visitors, providing them with greater peace of mind and enhancing their travel experience.
The UAE is already a major tourist hotspot, offering a plethora of attractions. In Dubai, visitors can marvel at the iconic Burj Khalifa, explore the lush Miracle Garden, or shop at the expansive Mall of the Emirates. Abu Dhabi entices with Ferrari World, the historic Qasr Al Hosn Fortress, and the family-friendly SeaWorld Yas Island. Beyond these major cities, tourists can enjoy the beaches, casinos, monuments, adventure activities, and cultural wonders in Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Al Ain, and Fujairah.
With this new health insurance-inclusive tourist visa, the UAE is taking significant strides to provide a safer and more convenient travel experience. This move not only highlights the country’s commitment to innovative tourism solutions but also reinforces its position as a leading global travel destination. As the UAE continues to enhance its tourism infrastructure, visitors can look forward to a well-rounded and secure experience, making the UAE an even more attractive destination for travellers worldwide.
