AirAsia Flight Attendants Get Married Onboard a Flight to Boracay

Many travellers joke that walking down an aircraft aisle is a lot dreamier than walking down the wedding aisle. But on 5 Feb 2021, stunning bride Micah Cura got the best of both worlds as she walked down the aisle of AirAsia flight Z2 225 bound for Boracay. Her groom, Kristoffer “Topy” Rustia, waited for her at the plane tail, where they later exchanged their wedding vows.

This one-of-a-kind wedding is known to be the first onboard wedding in the Philippines; but the ceremony only seemed apt for Topy and Micah, who met during their cabin crew training in 2018.

As their love grew, Topy started dreaming of marrying Micah in the very place that fuelled their relationship. “As crazy as it may seem, I envisioned Micah walking down the aisle in one of our flights wearing her lovely gown, not her cabin crew uniform,” Topy told AirAsia. “It seemed like it would be impossible, knowing that we work as flight attendants, but AirAsia made it happen.”

The newlyweds, along with their intimate group of family and friends, proceeded with their reception in The Lind Boracay. Before the ceremony, every passenger tested negative for COVID-19 and passed all the necessary documents for travelling to Aklan.

If Disney were creative enough to let Mulan and Melody procreate, Danielle would be that child. From an early age, she has dreamt of becoming a purposeful revolutionary... and an unruly mermaid. While Danielle hasn't held a sword in her lifetime, she feels powerful enough with her byline. Her creative energy is fueled by many things: the quiet right before the rest of the world wakes up, the orange sky as the sun rises during an uncrowded morning surf, the beautiful bitter taste of black coffee, and the threatening reminder of a pending deadline.
