The centrepiece of the CCP’s Earth Day celebrations is the unveiling of “Mebuyan’s Colony,” a large-scale art installation by Filipino visual artist Leeroy New. This “living sculpture” invites visitors to explore a maze-like structure constructed from recycled materials and bamboo.

Inspired by the Bagobo goddess Mebuyan, the installation delves into themes of femininity, nature, and the circle of life. Seedlings planted within the structure add another layer of interactivity, encouraging the growth of new life. “Mebuyan’s Colony” is open for free exploration at the CCP Front Lawn from Apr 25–May 25 2024.

Dagitab Digital Light Show

Another immersive experience is the Dagitab Digital Light Show. This innovative display uses the CCP’s iconic Bamboo Pavilion as a canvas, projecting a mesmerising dance of light and colour. The interactive nature of the show encourages movement and exploration, keeping the audience engaged throughout the five-minute spectacle. Accompanied by music from renowned artists, the Dagitab Digital Light Show offers a powerful reminder of the Earth’s beauty and importance.

Exact showtimes for this free event haven’t been announced yet, so be sure to check the CCP’s website or Facebook page for updates.

If you’re seeking a more peaceful experience, head over to the CCP Main Building for their daily Facade Light Show. Running from 22–30 Apr 2024 from 6.30pm to 10pm, this calming display uses the building itself as a canvas. Inspired by the ocean’s ebb and flow, waves of light will gently wash over the structure, creating a tranquil atmosphere amidst the bustling energy of Roxas Boulevard

Anne is your go-to girl if you want to talk about all things beauty, fashion and adventure. Her creative expression would be through writing and curating photos. Exploring different places and immersing herself in diverse cultures is her idea of fun. If you ask her to describe what her perfect day is, her answer would be by the beach with a book on her hand enjoying a nice margarita.
