If you are craving a peaceful escape where the water is crystal clear and the scenery looks straight out of a postcard, Apuao Pequeña Island in Camarines Norte might be exactly what you need.
Hidden off the coast of Mercedes, this stunning island is still under the radar, which means fewer crowds and more space for you to enjoy the beauty of nature. Here, life slows down. You can spend hours listening to the sound of the waves, feeling the sea breeze, and taking in the view of pine trees swaying gently by the shore.

Unlike the usual palm-fringed beaches in the Philippines, Apuao Pequeña is lined with tall pine trees, creating a rare mix of tropical and forest vibes. The sand is soft and white, perfect for long barefoot walks, while the waters are calm and inviting for a morning dip.
Just beside it lies Apuao Grande Island, and the two are connected by a sandbar that reveals itself during low tide. Walking along this stretch of sand with clear water on both sides is an experience you will not forget, especially when the sunlight makes the water sparkle.

Camp under the stars
With little light pollution, the night sky here is breathtaking. Bring a tent, lie back, and watch the stars put on a show.
Walk the sandbar
During low tide, stroll from Apuao Pequeña to Apuao Grande and enjoy the rare feeling of walking between two seas.
