Loved BTS In The Soop? You Can Actually Book the Lakeside Property on Airbnb

If you’re a fan of K-pop group BTS, then you probably know very well that their reality show In The Soop is the epitome of “healing.” For those who haven’t seen it, the short series follows the Bangtan boys as they enjoy a week of much-deserved relaxation; here, they spend seven whole days in a beautiful lakeside home in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province — and the location is as healing as the show itself. The great news for fans of the series (or basically anyone planning a restful South Korean getaway): the property is available for booking on Airbnb!

Listing name: Located on the shore of Chungeon Lake Lake 192, a house going to the lake
Listing type: Entire home
Max. no. of guests: 16
No. of bedrooms: 4

In typical ARMY fashion, fans found the In The Soop Airbnb listing before the show even premiered in August 2020, as scenes of the property appeared on Weverse’s official teasers. (Honestly, I’d hire them as my very own personal investigators… But I digress!)

Lake 192: Your dream home in Chuncheon

The property is actually called Lake 192, and is accessible by way of driving from Seoul. As seen on In The Soop, the journey here will require you to take a scenic drive through the mountains of Gangwon Province’s capital. The moment you arrive, you’ll be greeted by the most tranquil scenes — so peaceful you convinced that Lake 192 was specifically built for namjooning (in ARMY speak, this means doing things like enjoying nature and reading a book!).

Based on our research, it turns out that Lake 192 is an award-winning home, too! According to the listing on Airbnb, it received the Korea Architecture Award. Once you take a virtual tour of the property, you’ll see just how deserving it is — so keep scrolling.

The property consists of the following: a two-storey main house with two bedrooms; a two-bedroom guesthouse that sits directly on top of a lake; and a spacious yard that you can even transform into a glamping site. The outdoor area is perfect for hosting gatherings, as well as stargazing at night. To top it all off, a generous amount of parking space is provided, too.

A stay here will also get you free access to the property’s barbecue grill and charcoal, as well as free use of their karaoke machine. You’re also welcome to go fishing — but don’t forget to bring your own equipment! Read more about the Airbnb and stay inclusions here.

A virtual tour of BTS’s In The Soop Airbnb

This is the very scene you’ll find in a lot of In The Soop clips. Here, you can see the lake that served as a location for many of their adventures, the lake house and the main house.

Lake 192 also shares a photo of the tranquil Soyang Lake, which practically acts as the property’s very own backyard. It’s the very lake where BTS went fishing and canoeing — they raced their RC boats here, too!

The main house

Photographed above is the main house, where some of the BTS members slept, cooked, and spent a lot of their time just hanging out. They particularly enjoyed the outdoor area a lot, too!

Inside the main house, you’ll also find a spacious lounge area. It’s actually where BTS set up a lot of their board games and their keyboard piano, sang karaoke, and simply enjoyed each other’s company. Personally, I barely recognised it on the Airbnb listing, as it’s very bare compared to how it appeared on the show!

The upper house

On In The Soop, this specific part of the property was called the “upper house.” According to the Airbnb description, it seems this single-storey house is more commonly used for workshops and other events. In the show, the house was transformed into a game room, kitchen, and the bedroom where BTS’ Jimin slept.

This lovely gazebo is found right outside the upper house. In the series, this is where the BTS members enjoyed many of the meals they prepared. SUGA’s camper van was set up right beside this spot, too!
