Cebu Pacific has made considerable progress in resolving recent baggage delay issues at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3. The delays, caused by a malfunction in the terminal’s baggage handling system, left over a hundred pieces of luggage behind, inconveniencing passengers. However, the airline has been working diligently to address the problem and ensure smoother operations moving forward.

The technical malfunction, which occurred in the past few days, was tied to the baggage system operated by New NAIA Infrastructure Corp. (NNIC), a private contractor responsible for terminal operations. Cebu Pacific, in close coordination with NNIC, has been working tirelessly to restore normal functionality. According to Cebu Pacific, the NNIC is "exerting every effort to resolve the technical challenges as quickly as possible." Additional improvements are anticipated over the coming days, as both the airline and operator continue to address the situation.
To assist passengers affected by the delay, Cebu Pacific offered several options for retrieving their luggage. Domestic travellers were given the choice of either picking up their bags at the airport or having them delivered to their destination. For international passengers, a similar option was made available, along with delivery services for those with connecting flights. This flexibility helped ease the frustration caused by the unexpected delays.
Despite the glitch in the system, Cebu Pacific reassured passengers that the majority of checked baggage has continued to travel as scheduled. The airline emphasised that its teams are working hard to expedite deliveries for the affected passengers and provide assistance where needed. In a statement, the airline said, “Our teams are doing everything in their power to expedite baggage deliveries and ensure all affected passengers are assisted promptly. We understand the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate our passengers' patience and understanding.”

The ongoing improvements aim to restore the reliability of the baggage handling system at NAIA Terminal 3, ensuring that travellers can enjoy a smoother, more efficient experience.
For passengers flying through NAIA Terminal 3 in the coming days, Cebu Pacific advises monitoring updates and checking with airport personnel for any potential disruptions.
