There are many other beautiful places in the Philippines outside its capital, but these 5 destinations will let you enjoy weekend trips with great ease.

If you're a fan of Hirono and collect its figures, you’ll love visiting this place! POP MART has turned Hou Tou Wan, an abandoned village on Shengshan Island in Zhejiang, China, into a real-life fantasy world with its “After Time” exhibition. In this deserted fishing island, Hirono finds a space among empty streets and overgrown houses.

So why was this village abandoned? Hou Tou Wan used to be full of life. In the 70s and 80s, families lived along narrow stone streets, fishermen worked hard, and the village had lively festivals. Locals even called it “Little Taiwan” because of its strong maritime culture. By 2002, life slowed down. Fish stocks dropped, schools were far, and transportation was difficult. Most residents moved to the mainland, leaving the village empty. Nature slowly took over, turning it into a quiet, eerie place.

POP MART, together with Ctrip Travel, introduced Hirono into this setting. Hirono isn’t a typical hero. The character is all about quiet reflection, self-discovery, and small emotions we often keep to ourselves. Walking through Hou Tou Wan, visitors can feel Hirono’s world come alive. Empty stone houses, ivy-covered streets, and corners full of greenery create a calm, reflective stage for the exhibition.

For Filipinos, this is more than just a toy display! Fans of POP MART and Hirono collectors can explore, take photos, and experience a place that was once abandoned but now feels alive through art. Hou Tou Wan shows that even forgotten spots can become something special when imagination takes over.
The village is quiet, empty, and perfect for travellers who just want to wander and ponder. Hirono fits perfectly here! And somehow the place doesn’t feel abandoned anymore. If you ever get the chance, just go!
