Actress Bianca Umali recently made headlines after calling out Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 (NAIA 3) for its lack of seating amid ongoing renovation work. In her Instagram Stories, she shared a short clip showing travellers sitting on the floor while waiting for their flights. The post quickly caught attention online, sparking conversations about passenger comfort at one of the country’s busiest airports.
Bianca’s post came with a heartfelt plea to airport management to provide temporary chairs or at least some form of seating while construction continues. She noted that standing or sitting on the floor for hours is especially difficult for elderly passengers, mothers, and children who often need a place to rest before boarding.

Many netizens supported Bianca’s statement, sharing similar experiences at the terminal. Some mentioned that the renovations had caused inconvenience, while others pointed out that the airport could have offered temporary solutions for passengers affected by the reduced seating areas.
Others also praised Bianca for using her platform to raise awareness about the issue, saying that such feedback from public figures helps push authorities to improve facilities for travellers.
According to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), renovation work is currently ongoing at NAIA Terminal 3, aimed at upgrading its facilities to provide a more modern and comfortable experience for travellers. While the improvements are meant to benefit passengers in the long run, temporary inconveniences like the removal of seats have clearly affected many travellers in the short term.
Authorities have yet to issue a detailed response to Bianca’s post, but discussions about better passenger facilities continue to circulate online.

As airports worldwide continue to modernise, travellers are becoming more vocal about the kind of experience they expect, especially in key terminals like NAIA 3. For now, many hope the renovation will bring better amenities and a more comfortable environment for both local and international passengers.
