Holy Week is just around the corner, and you know what that means. Beaches, road trips, family reunions, and everyone trying to get out of the city for some much-needed rest. But before you pack your bags and head to the port, here's something worth knowing: the Philippine Coast Guard is getting ready to make your trip safer and smoother this Holy Week 2025.
From April 13 (Palm Sunday) to April 20 (Easter Sunday), the Coast Guard will be on full alert, making sure sea travel goes off without a hitch.

Around 17,000 Coast Guard personnel will be deployed across the country. That’s a lot of boots on the ground, all there to watch over sea routes, inter-island trips, and coastal areas. Whether you're catching a ferry to your hometown or planning a chill beach escape, there's a good chance you'll spot Coast Guard teams on duty.
They’ll be monitoring 24/7 to handle the expected travel surge. Think of them like the dependable barkada who keeps everything in check while everyone else is busy having fun.

If you're taking a ferry or any boat ride this Holy Week, be ready for a few more security checks than usual. The Coast Guard will be inspecting vessels and port terminals with the help of K9 units to make sure everything is safe and secure.
Sure, it might take a little longer to get through the line, but it’s all part of making sure your trip goes as planned. Arriving early is a smart move if you want to avoid the rush and board stress-free.

If your plans include some beach time, you’re covered too. The Coast Guard is teaming up with lifeguards at top travel spots to help out in case of emergencies. Whether you’re swimming, surfing, or just vibing on the shore, there’ll be people ready to assist if anything goes wrong.
Knowing there’s help nearby just adds to the peace of mind, especially if you’re heading to lesser-known beach spots.

The Coast Guard isn’t doing this solo. Other government agencies are stepping in to keep land travel safe too. The MMDA is sending out 2,500 field personnel to help manage traffic, especially around terminals and highways.
The LTFRB is adding more buses to meet the demand, and the LTO and PNP will be doing random inspections to make sure buses and vehicles are up to safety standards. So even if you’re not traveling by sea, these efforts are here to make land travel a little less chaotic.

All of this is part of Oplan Biyaheng Ayos, a nationwide initiative focused on making Holy Week travel safe and efficient. The aim is simple: less stress and more time for what really matters, enjoying your trip.
So whether you're off to your province, your favorite beach, or just looking for a break from city life, now you know what to expect. The extra checks and preparations might take a bit of time, but they’re worth it if it means arriving safe and sound.
Just don’t forget the essentials: pack light, stay hydrated, and bring loads of patience. Holy Week travel is always busy, but with the right prep, it can still be one of the best parts of your summer.
