We know the pandemic has already shifted most of your life to “The Cloud,” but honestly, nothing beats the real clouds. You know, the ones we learned about in elementary school: fluffy water drops suspended in the atmosphere to breed rain; nimbus; cumulus; cumulonimbus; stratus… just whateverus that isn’t coronavirus. Remember those kinds of clouds?
Well, it’s time that you do. Take a two-hour drive to Tanay, Rizal and book a staycation at House of Clouds Tanay, a newly launched accommodation nestled amid a sea of clouds.

What to know about House of Clouds Tanay
“Witnessing a sea of clouds” has been a steady prop on many travellers’ bucket lists; fortunately, the Philippines has a good number of spots for this refreshing activity. But usually, finding a sea of clouds entails rising at dawn, driving long off-road tracks, and hiking mid-level mountains.
This is why House of Clouds boasts a convenience that sets it apart from the rest of “sea of clouds” destinations. Located in Barangay Laiban in Tanay, Rizal, the clifftop vacation rental is only two hours away from Metro Manila.
How to get there
The hosts admit that the trail going to House of Clouds Tanay may be challenging on rainy days. You have to either trek for 10 to 20 minutes or drive a 4×4 vehicle to reach the spot. However, either option can be “an added adventure, depending on your point of view.”
Alternatively, you can park your car near the Martessem Mountain Resort, which you can find on Waze. From there, book their habal-habal or a 4×4 vehicle (₱150 per pax) that will bring you straight to the property. Guests say the ride in itself is an experience you can’t miss.
