For fans of Lee Jong Suk in the Philippines, there’s some disappointing news. The South Korean actor’s much-anticipated fan meeting in Manila, originally scheduled for November 30 at the Araneta Coliseum, has been officially cancelled. The announcement came from his agency, Ace Factory, which cited “unforeseen circumstances” that could affect the safety of the fans, the artist, and the event team.
The main reason behind the cancellation is a scheduled nationwide rally on the same day. This protest is linked to calls for accountability and transparency regarding alleged flood control anomalies. Considering the scale of the demonstration, the decision to cancel the fan meeting was made out of concern for everyone’s safety. Ace Factory emphasised that the choice was made after “careful consideration for the safety of the fans, the artist and all related teams.”
Both Ace Factory and local promoter Wilbros Live expressed their apologies to the fans. They reassured everyone that they hope Lee Jong Suk can meet his Filipino fans again soon. It’s clear they understand how eagerly fans were looking forward to this event, but safety had to come first.

For those who already bought tickets, refunds are now being arranged. Credit or debit card payments will be automatically refunded through TicketNet within 15 to 30 banking days. Fans who purchased tickets in cash can visit TicketNet at Araneta Coliseum between December 15 and 21 to claim their refund. The process aims to make it as smooth as possible for everyone affected by the cancellation.

This fan meeting was part of Lee Jong Suk’s “With: Just Like This” Asia fan meeting tour, which includes stops in Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Taipei, Bangkok, and Hong Kong. The Manila stop was particularly exciting because it marked another chance for Filipino fans to see him in person, following his previous fan meeting in the city in 2023.

For anyone new to K-drama fandom, Lee Jong Suk is known for starring in hits like Doctor Stranger, Pinocchio, W, Big Mouth, and While You Were Sleeping. His performances have won him fans across Asia, and his visits are always eagerly anticipated.
While fans in Manila will have to wait a little longer for the chance to meet him, the cancellation serves as a reminder that safety always comes first, especially when large gatherings coincide with major events. Hopefully, Lee Jong Suk’s next visit will allow fans to enjoy the experience without any concerns. In the meantime, fans can still follow updates about his tours and future fan meetings through official channels.
This cancellation may be disappointing, but it also highlights how event planning requires careful attention to local circumstances. It’s a good lesson for anyone attending concerts, fan meetings, or other large gatherings in the Philippines or elsewhere. With patience, fans will have another chance to see Lee Jong Suk in person and enjoy the excitement that comes with his fan events.
