Since Sunday, Jan. 14, Mount Mayon in Bicol, Albay, has been classified under a high level of unrest. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) released official information about the active volcano on Tuesday, Jan. 16. According to them, there is a newly formed lava dome around the volcano’s crater, and that lava started to flow down since Monday. The lava isn’t considered to have reached a dangerous volume yet, but Mount Mayon has also been emitting steam and ash.
