The application process is simple and user-friendly: Just visit the New Zealand Immigration website, complete the online form, upload the necessary documents, and pay the application fee of NZ$455 (approximately ₱15,673) using Visa, Mastercard, or UnionPay credit or debit cards. Remember, there are only 100 Working Holiday Visas available in each cycle. So, don’t procrastinate; once they’re gone, applications close.

Unlike a typical tourist visa, it allows you to work for multiple employers for up to three months each and engage in short courses or study programs, provided they don’t exceed six months. Essential requirements
To secure this coveted visa, you’ll need to meet some requirements:
- Ensure your passport is valid for at least three months beyond your intended departure from New Zealand.
- Prove you have at least NZ$4,200 (approximately ₱144,672) available to cover your living expenses. You’ll be required to submit bank drafts, bank statements, credit card statements, and travellers’ cheques.
- Demonstrate proof of onward travel or financial means to purchase a ticket.
- Have health and travel insurance, including hospitalisation coverage. Prepare a copy of your insurance certificate and an approval letter from your insurance company.
- Hold a tertiary education qualification, or provide evidence of completing at least three years of full-time tertiary-level study.
- Show proficiency in English or hold a tertiary qualification from an English-taught institution.
- Be prepared for health checks and character assessments. The immigration will ask you to provide a chest X-ray test result and conduct a medical examination. While completing the online application form, you’ll be asked to provide information about your character, and it’s important to be aware that you might need to submit Police Certificates as evidence of your good character.
Remember: It’s a one-time opportunity
Once you’re granted a Working Holiday Visa, make the most of it because it’s a one-time opportunity. You can’t delay or cancel it, and if it goes unused, it will eventually expire, with no option to reapply.
