There are many other beautiful places in the Philippines outside its capital, but these 5 destinations will let you enjoy weekend trips with great ease.

Quezon City roads are about to get messy. Starting September 24 until November 30, one lane of North Avenue heading to Elliptical Road will be completely closed. The reason? Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) construction is digging in for the pedestrian tunnel at Quezon Memorial Circle Station. Your daily commute might get a little chaotic.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is asking everyone to stay patient and plan alternate routes. “We sincerely ask for the public’s cooperation and understanding for this temporary inconvenience,” the agency said, reminding commuters that it is all for a modern, comfortable, and efficient public transport system.

The full line is expected to be fully operational by 2029, though some partial openings may happen earlier. The current progress stands at 83% complete.
The MRT-7 has faced several delays. It was originally supposed to open in late 2025, then 2026, and now partial operations might start in 2027.
What this means for you

For the next two months, your daily commute along North Avenue is going to take more time than usual. Expect slow-moving traffic, especially during peak hours, and plan your route ahead to avoid getting stuck. If you usually drive through Elliptical Road, consider taking alternative streets or adjusting your schedule to leave earlier. Public transport users should also check their options, as some bus and jeepney routes may be affected. Patience is the name of the game, but planning ahead will save you a lot of headaches.
Temporary traffic headaches are coming, but MRT-7 promises faster and safer rides from QC to Bulacan. Stay updated and plan your trips ahead to survive the next two months like a pro.
