It’s official. The Philippines has been crowned the #1 country for Christmas celebrations in the world, based on the 2025 Global Holiday Travel Survey of 1,000 tourists.
And honestly, who’s surprised? From Simbang Gabi to Noche Buena, parols, bibingka, and endless reunions, Filipinos don’t just celebrate Christmas, we live it.
Even Mariah Carey couldn’t resist the holiday hype. The queen of Christmas performed “All I Want for Christmas Is You” live during her Manila concert, confirming what we already knew: no one does it like us.
But what really makes Christmas in the Philippines stand out?

It’s the feeling. That mix of warmth, chaos, and pure joy that somehow makes traffic, crowded malls, and last-minute shopping worth it. It’s about reconnecting, forgiving, and celebrating even when life gets tough.
Filipinos across the country and around the world agree it’s the togetherness that makes it special. As one reader from Nueva Ecija said, “We give and share love with others. It’s a day for all to share their blessings.”

And of course, the food is a star on its own:
Bibingka and puto bumbong after dawn mass
Lechon, hamon, and queso de bola for Noche Buena
Hot tsokolate or salabat to end the night right
It’s a full feast that reflects who we are: generous, festive, and always ready for seconds.

And when the rest of the world packs up their decorations after a week, Filipinos are just getting started. Our Christmas spirit lasts until Three Kings Day in January, and sometimes even until the Feast of the Black Nazarene. That’s how deeply Christmas runs in our culture.
With the world naming the Philippines as the #1 country for Christmas, this only proves what we’ve known all along. Nobody celebrates like we do. From the longest holiday season to the warmest smiles, Christmas in the Philippines isn’t just a festivity. It’s family, food, faith, and home.
