Taiwan has just made travelling easier once again for Filipinos. If you've been planning a quick escape or a cultural adventure abroad, here's some exciting news: Taiwan has extended visa-free entry for Philippine passport holders until 2026. This means you can enjoy up to 14 days in Taiwan without needing a visa, no paperwork, and no stress.
Taiwanese Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung announced the Philippine Independence Day celebration in Taipei, which was hosted by the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO). He later confirmed the extension on social media, with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Taiwan (MOFA) expected to issue an official statement soon.

Originally introduced in November 2017 as a pilot programme, the visa-free travel to Taiwan policy for Filipinos has proven popular. It was even reinstated in September 2022 after a brief suspension and extended again in 2024 for nationals of the Philippines, Thailand, and Brunei. The current visa-free entry period, which was set to run until July 31, 2025, will now continue through 2026.
