The Taiwan Ministry of Education created this program to help Taiwanese students further develop their English communication and writing skills. This year alone, Taiwan welcomed a total of 77 English teachers and 11 teaching assistants from the Philippines. With eased travel restrictions and visa-free entry for Philippine passport holders, Taiwan is encouraging more Filipinos to join the program set to begin next year.
Image credit: twinsterphoto via Canva ProInitiated by The Taiwan Ministry of Education, the TFETP aims to “create more opportunities for Taiwanese students to learn English in schools nationwide.” Beyond improving the English proficiency of Taiwanese students, the country hopes to build and strengthen its people-to-people ties with the Philippines. Moreover, for Filipinos who have a passion for education and travel, this is a great opportunity to venture into.

Note: Those applying without prior teaching experience in Taiwan or other countries are highly advised (but not required) to provide education or teaching qualifications. These must be certified by the Republic of China (Taiwan) Embassies and Missions or verified by an accredited credential evaluation agency.
