Ready for a solo travel?
Yes, you read that right. Pinoy travellers will soon be able to book direct flights to Morocco from Manila!
On 08 September 2019, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that an air services agreement (ASA) was made between the Philippines and the Kingdom of Morocco. In line with the ASA, the two countries’ respective carriers will be mounting daily flights to and from each other’s territories. This means daily direct flights to Morocco from Manila, and vice versa!
According to the DOTr, this agreement was signed in accordance with their initiative to boost tourism figures, and social and economic relations. They would also like to increase people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary Igor Bailen, who headed the Philippine delegation, has said that the Philippines will be setting up an embassy in Morocco. This is scheduled to take place in 2020.

This news is especially exciting for Philippine passport holders, who can enjoy visa-free entry to the North African country. Given this, we expect that many Filipino travellers will be checking Morocco off their bucket lists!
