If you think you have tried every fun water activity in the Philippines, you might want to add one more to your list. Down in Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur, there is a river that offers a rush you will not forget. This is water tubing at the Sibulan River, which feels like the adventurous cousin of rafting. You do not need paddles or complicated manoeuvres. All you need is yourself, a giant tube, and the rapids.

The ride begins in Darong, a peaceful area within Santa Cruz. The Sibulan River flows through an Ayala-owned coconut plantation, so before you even touch the water, you are surrounded by tall coconut trees and fresh countryside air. The river itself is a mix of calm stretches and frothy rapids, giving you a perfect blend of relaxation and thrill.
You will be provided with everything you need for the ride, including a helmet, life vest, and knee pads, all included in the ₱350 to ₱400 rate. The guides will give you a quick safety briefing, and then the fun begins. You settle into your tube, push off, and let the current take you on an unforgettable ride.
One moment you are floating peacefully, the next you are bouncing over rushing waters and spinning through narrow channels. You will probably get soaked, but that is part of the experience. The guides are skilled and attentive, ready to assist if you fall in.
You can choose a shorter route with gentler rapids or go for a longer one that lasts one to two hours. Either way, the energy and excitement keep you smiling the whole way through.
From Davao City, head to Ecoland Terminal and take a bus bound for Digos. Ask the driver to drop you off at the San Miguel Brewing Company in Darong, Santa Cruz. From there, you can ride a habal habal straight to the tubing site.
If you are driving, the journey takes about an hour from Davao City. The site is well known among locals, so it is easy to find with a quick inquiry.

It is affordable, fun, and perfect for a spontaneous trip. You do not need a big group to enjoy it, and the cool mountain water is the ultimate refreshment on a sunny day.
