In the last six months, I’ve consumed more boxes of ube cheese pandesal than ever before. And I’m not complaining — not at all! Ube cheese pandesal has become one of my quarantine favourites, so much so that I’ve started thinking about where to buy more flavoured pandesal online.
To my pleasant surprise, a lot of online bakeries are now selling pandesal with even more fascinating flavours. And while ube cheese will remain close to my heart whatever happens (first love never dies!), I’m super excited to explore all my other options. I’m sure I’m not the only one wondering where to buy flavoured pandesal online, so here’s a list all of us can refer to whenever our cravings hit us.
Where to buy flavoured pandesal online
1. Ambos Panaderia
It’s no surprise that Ambos Panaderia traces its ancestry to the iconic Ambos Mundos Restaurant. Both seem to show commitment to quality food that warm the hearts of Pinoys. Where the restaurant sells classic Filipino dishes like tapa and adobo, the bakery offers quintessential Pinoy pastries: ensaymada, cheese rolls — and of course, pandesal.
Just so you know, everything in Ambos Panaderia’s menu is served in a variety of flavours. As for pandesal, they offer ube cheese, strawberry cream cheese, pandan ube, double chocolate, bavarian, and cheese flavours. A box of 12 sells for as low as ₱145.
2. Tenthbread Bakery
Based in Binondo, Tenthbread Bakery has long been a go-to bakeshop for Manila foodies. The wholesale bakery offers baguettes, croissants, and other speciality bread; but lately, their flavoured pandesal has been gaining the most popularity.
Tenthbread Bakery offers four pandesal flavours: ube cheese, strawberry cheese, pandan de coco, and mocha lava. Can’t decide which flavour to try? Their assorted box of 12 contains three pieces per flavour and costs ₱250 only!
3. Bread Crumbs Bread Shop
Wondering where to buy flavoured pandesal in Quezon City? Check out Bread Crumbs Bread Shop, an online store that sells bread of all shapes and sizes. Literally! Their pandesal flavours come in classic, malunggay, ube cheese, chocolate, strawberry cheese, mango cheese, and matcha chocolate. They also sell bite-sized pieces of bread and other types of buns and rolls.
Bread Crumbs Bread Shop bakes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; they deliver on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
4. Flavours by Yna
“What started as a craving and curiosity got me thinking of different flavours other than the usual ube halaya,” the Instagram bio of Flavours by Yna reads. “More flavours soon.”
Indeed, Flavours by Yna is one of the more experimental online shops when it comes to flavoured pandesal. As of writing, the shop just uploaded a new variant — Pande Oreo, a flavour seemingly derived from oreo cookies. Other pandesal flavours include ham and cheese, black forest, pink custard, matcha, ube, red velvet, chocolate, blueberry, and butternut; we’re looking forward to more variants in the coming days!
5. Kettle Kitchen PH
Without a doubt, Kettle Kitchen PH products are always heaven-sent. Just this quarantine, the online store started producing Chocolate Lava Pandesal — quite a strong contender for the best-tasting pandesal variant in the Philippines! Maybe I’m exaggerating, but could you resist that gooey goodness?
Beyond the Chocolate Lava Pandesal, Kettle Kitchen PH also bakes more innovative flavours, like the Buko Pandan Cream Cheese and the Peach Mango Pandesal. They also offer ube cheese, strawberry cream cheese, and mocha flavours.
6. Mrs. Pandesalan Meycauayan
Good news, Bulacan residents! If you’re looking for where to buy flavoured pandesal around your area, Mrs. Pandesalan Meycauayan has got you. This online shop offers freshly baked pandesal daily from 6am to 7pm.
Mrs. Pandesalan Meycauayan boasts in its products being both flavourful and stuffed with fillings. Each pandesal variant is a fusion of wonderful tastes: pandan ube, strawberry chocolate, cinnamon chocolate, cheese ube, ube cheese, ube ube, double cheese ube, choco choco, matcha choco, cheese cheese, coffee cheese, and coffee choco. Wow, that was a mouthful — but I’d love to try them all!
7. Mrs. Bake and Make
If you’re no sweet tooth, you probably want to check out Mrs. Bake & Make for your pandesal fill. Instead of the trendy saccharine flavours, this Makati-based online store sells savoury pandesal variants. So if you’re craving for something different, try out their cheesy spinach, tuna pesto, and chilli corned beef!
That said, Mrs. Bake and Make doesn’t stop at savoury pastries. They regularly whip up freshly-baked banana loaf bread and brownies, too!
8. Buenos Días Panadería
When I was a kid, I thoroughly enjoyed dipping my pandesal in Milo — this is why I find Buenos Días Panadería’s Milo Buns so nostalgic. Their Milo-flavoured pandesal is topped with Milo powder; it’s filled with Milo-flavoured cream, too!
On top of their Milo pandesal, Buenos Días Panadería also sells Pan de Tablea and Ube y Queso. According to customer reviews, all variants are equally delectable! (Bonus fun fact: This store is named after its owner, Elyra Buendia del Rosario, who also happens to be Ely Buendia’s sister!)
9. The Lazy Baker PH
The Lazy Baker PH has won the hearts of many pandesal fans with their best-selling Rainbow Pandesal set. For only ₱220, the set contains two of each flavour that the bakery has.
Holding true to its name, the Rainbow Pandesal set has pandesal flavours corresponding to each colour of the rainbow: Red for red velvet with cream cheese fillings; orange for butternut with chocolate fillings; yellow for vanilla with caramel white chocolate fillings; green for pandan with buko pandan and yema fillings; blue for blueberry with blueberry cream cheese fillings; and finally, violet for ube cheese pandesal with ube halaya and cheese fillings.
10. MommyBakes MNL
A fairly new online bakery, MommyBakes MNL only started selling baked-to-order goods during the quarantine. Starting out as a quaint shop for ube cheese pandesal, MommyBakes MNL now has four flavours available! They’ve since added buko pandan pandesal, red velvet cream cheese pandesal, and banana Nutella pandesal — all of which have the signature softness and moistness of MommyBakes MNL bread.
Surely, there are a lot more online bakeries out there — did your favourite make the list? Leave us a comment and tell us about your favourite pandesal shops. We’d love to know where else to buy flavoured pandesal!
