12 Aesthetic Items to Decorate Your Room With

With nowhere else to go, a lot of us have put our energy into redecorating our favourite spaces. We’ve redirected our travel funds toward redesigning our homes; invested in countless aesthetic items, cool gadgets, and kitchen appliances; and found new and interesting ways to upcycle random things we’ve just had lying around our houses.

In a nutshell, we’ve basically been working towards transforming our spaces into something straight out of Pinterest — and it seems to be a bit of an endless pursuit, in the best way possible. If you’re always looking for new things to add to your spaces, then you’ve come to the right place. We’ve curated a list of aesthetic items you should definitely add to your virtual carts. The best part? Majority of our picks cost under ₱1,000, and they’re all available on Lazada!

Aesthetic items to add to your space

1. A cute lamp for your desk or bedside

Never in my life did I imagine I’d be excited to shop for something as simple as a lamp; but it turns out this particular piece of furniture can instantly add a lot of character to your space. There are so many beautiful options to choose from, too!

One of our top picks would have to be this Nordic-style lamp, which perfectly fits the minimalist “Muji aesthetic” that’s currently all the rage. Another one would have to be this gorgeous moon lamp that comes in 8cm and 15cm sizes — a perfect choice for big lovers of nature and astronomy. (Oh, how we miss the outside world!)

2. Macrame wall hangings

Here’s another home decor trend everyone’s been crazy about: Macrame wall hangings. These crafty items can easily give your room a tropical, boho chic vibe.

There’s a macrame wall hanging for everyone, too — there are macrame dreamcatchers, plant hangers that can hold your flower pots, and those with pockets for holding things like magazines. Each one sounds worthy of a place in your virtual cart!

3. Retro-designed bluetooth speakers

I don’t know about you, but I can never go a day without blasting my fave tunes — whether it’s while I’m having breakfast, working out, or just in the shower. So I really love how nowadays, there are bluetooth speakers available in just about every shape, size, and design!

My favourites would have to be these retro-inspired mini bluetooth speakers. One is designed to look like a vintage radio, while the other is a cross between a radio and a gramophone. Aren’t they just too cute?

4. A bluetooth CD player

If you’re all about that retro vibe, how about a trip back to the good old ’90s? There are times I miss listening to CDs on a boombox or walkman — especially now that CDs seem to be making a comeback. This bluetooth CD player is a pretty popular pick among people who are into collecting their favourite artists’ albums, and it’s not hard to see why. Not only does it let you play music old-school style; it’s also got a clean, minimalist look that makes it double as a sort of frame to display your CD’s art.

That’s not the only reason this CD player is one of today’s most coveted aesthetic items, either. Another of its highlights is that you can choose to display it via desk stand or mounted on your wall — it comes complete with the necessary accessories for either option. It also doubles as a bluetooth speaker and FM radio, can connect to USB flash drives and AUX cords, and even comes with a remote control. Lastly, it’s available in three colours: white, black, and pink! You’ll definitely be getting every bang for your buck!

5. A cool digital clock

It turns out that in addition to lamps, clocks are everyday items worth getting excited about as well. (And that’s coming from a former believer that we no longer needed clocks now that we have smartphones.) They’re nice decorative pieces and truly come in handy when you’re trying to decrease your screen time!

Our top two picks are highly sought after by those who’ve been redecorating their spaces — and it’s easy to see why, as these aesthetic items are definitely hard to ignore. The first is a white digital LED clock reminiscent of a neon sign, and the other is a minimalist wooden digital clock that will seamlessly blend with Muji- or IKEA-inspired interiors. Our recommendation? Add both to your cart — one for your bedside and one for your desk!

6. A minimalist bedside table

If you’re redecorating your room from scratch, a nice bedside table is key. After all, it’ll be one of the first things you look at every morning! We love this Nordic bedside table because its design is trendy yet timeless, and it isn’t too small or too big. It’s just the right size for holding all our essentials!

7. A bohemian-style rug

Apart from that minimalist aesthetic, the bohemian vibe is yet another look that never seems to go out of style. A cute boho rug adds a splash of colour to contrast with white-and-wood decor, but also blends in beautifully with tropical-themed homes or rustic, country-inspired interiors.

Here are our top two picks: This tasseled carpet with an aztec design, and this area rug with a variety of colourful geometric shapes. We can’t decide which one we love more!

8. An irregularly shaped mirror

It turns out that imperfect is the new perfect, as irregularly shaped mirrors have become a must for those on the hunt for aesthetic decor items. We can’t deny that they do look super chic! They’re perfect additions to every kikay girl’s bedside table, dresser, or makeup table.

While it gives off a classy look, this aesthetic mirror isn’t priced badly at all — you can get it for under ₱300! We love that it comes with a wooden stand, too.

9. A rattan basket

We’re all about rattan fixtures — especially because we’re big fans of Philippine textiles. Rattan baskets are exceptionally versatile because when it comes to the ways you can utilise them, the possibilities are almost endless. You can use them to display your plants, designate them as storage baskets, place your shoes inside, or even use them to hold your yoga mats. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Our point is, if you’re redesigning your home, you’ll surely find use for at least one of these.

10. A cute coaster

Whether you spend much of your WFH hours sitting at your desk or simply can’t do without your daily cup of coffee, you might want to add a cute coaster to your cart. (Yup, who knew that good ol’ coasters would become such aesthetic items? We’re all for it, though!)

We’ve been seeing a whole lot of ocean-inspired coasters that will work as lovely additions to those who love collecting travel-themed decor. If you usually find yourself reheating your coffee over and over again, though, then you might want to opt for a heating coaster. This USB heating coaster with a wooden finish is my top recommendation — as I own one myself!

11. A Nordic throw blanket

Can’t afford to reupholster your couch or buy a new chair? No problem. Here’s a pro-tip: Throw a blanket over it! You’ll be surprised at how easily it can breathe new life into the chair or couch you’ve grown tired of looking at. (Just don’t forget to wash them every now and then!)

Our top two picks? This boho throw blanket with warm hues, along with this blanket with a cool Zodiac-inspired pattern. We love that each of them has designs on both sides, too! As for an added bonus: These blankets double as beautiful tapestries, so you can even hang them up on your walls. Without a doubt, they’re worth every penny — and then some.

12. A ceramic mug

And finally, could it ever hurt to buy another cute mug? I mean, they’re great for drinking coffee, but they work as pen holders and decorative pieces, too… (Basically, I’ll take any excuse to add more pieces to our growing collections. I can imagine you can probably relate.)

As for our recommendation, we’ve got our hearts set on this beautiful ceramic mug with a ring handle. It comes in four colours: white, yellow, purple, and green. Will you be adding one or all to your virtual carts?
