A different JYP in Cebu

On 23 May 2022, TikTok user Richie Anne Castillo uploaded a video of JYP in Cebu City. In the video, which has since gone viral, Castillo shares that the JYP Entertainment founder visited the city for a religious seminar. He is seen signing autographs for the seminar attendants and sharing speeches of faith.

As recorded In the TikTok post, Park says that he was not in the event to sing or dance, but to share values of the Bible. He did, however, showcase his iconic whisper producer tag during one of his lessons.

The event that Park attended was organised by the Cebu Baptist Church. Park served as a guest speaker for an entire week of Bible studies.

A blessing to Filipino K-pop fans

JYP also found the time to enjoy himself while in the Philippines. Facebook user Tai Laurente chanced upon the superstar inside a mall in the Queen City of the South. Laurente says on his Facebook post that he remembers the South Korean superstar in the television series, Dream High, produced by Park himself, and that Park was kind enough to take a photo with him. Apart from Laurente, there were also a number of fans that took photos with Park.

While known as a famous singer-songwriter, Park, age 50, is more famously known for founding his own entertainment label in South Korea, JYP Entertainment. This leading agency handles global K-pop idol groups, including 2PM, DAY6, Stray Kids, ITZY, and TWICE.
