If you have been scrolling through social media lately, you might have spotted a striking blue castle in Batangas and wondered, “Is this the Disneyland of the Philippines?”
The answer is no, but J Castles in Tanauan City has captured attention for its fairytale look and playful experiences. Since its soft opening in May 2024, the park has drawn curious families, groups of friends, and travellers looking for something new to explore.
So what makes J Castles different, and is it worth the trip from Manila

Unlike traditional theme parks with roller coasters and rides, J Castles is focused on interactive attractions and immersive rooms. The destination is divided into two main areas, each offering unique experiences.
Castle Studios features creative rooms designed to awaken your senses. Highlights include the Infinity LED Room, UFO Laser Room, Flood Room, Water District, Crystal Chairs, and a Tropical Rainforest. Each space is designed for fun exploration and plenty of photos.
Castle Pop leans into a more playful theme, featuring a Theatre, Astro Ball Room, Light Bridge, Disco Room, Game Room, Space Ship, and the popular Giant Rubber Ducky Room. This part of the park is especially popular with younger visitors and those who love colourful Instagram shots.
In total, there are 19 themed attractions across both castles.
The fun does not stop at the attractions. J Castles also offers food and drinks that fit its imaginative branding. The Blue Burger and Blue Lemon Soda are popular choices for visitors who want to try something unique while keeping the playful theme alive.
If you stay until the evening, you can catch the light and music show, which is paired with original tracks from J Castle Records. The show is a great way to end your visit, especially with sunset views of Taal Lake in the background.
While the castle exterior and colourful design may remind people of Disneyland, J Castles is not the same kind of attraction. It does not have parades or roller coasters. Instead, it offers a more creative and intimate park experience centred around interactive rooms and photo-friendly spaces.
Visitors have mixed reviews. Some say it is “Instagrammable in every corner” while others feel it still needs improvement. The key is to manage your expectations. If you are looking for high-adrenaline rides, you may be better off visiting Enchanted Kingdom. If you want a unique, mood-driven day out, J Castles has something different to offer.
