You May Now Book ‘Distancing Seats’ in PAL Flights

Keeping the travel industry afloat while battling a pandemic is anything but a cushy job for airlines. In the case of the country’s flag carrier, safety measures mean going beyond posting reminders. Recently, they’ve proven it by introducing what they call ‘distancing seats’ in their upcoming flights.

Available starting July 2020, distancing seats are basically empty chairs beside you on the plane. They include aisle and middle seats found in designated rows of Economy Cabin Class and all rows of Premium Economy Class. Fittingly, these seats are designed to promote social distancing in the air.

How to avail of PAL’s distancing seats

Booking of the said seats is available starting 16 Jun 2020 for all PAL and PAL Express flights from 1 Jul 2020 onwards. You can avail them by getting a seat in either the Economy Flex Class or Premium Economy Class via PAL’s website, mobile app, ticket offices, and global reservations hotline.

Instead of charging additional fees, PAL has already integrated these seat options when booking a fare in the said cabin classes. This means that you no longer need to pay extra to avail them. To know what an aircraft will look like with distancing seats, you can open PAL’s seat maps here.

Passengers who book these seats can likewise enjoy priority boarding and deplaning. Meanwhile, those looking for more privacy can pay more for PAL’s Business Class, which comes with an exclusive cabin and cabin dividers.
