If you’ve been seeing travel selfies all over your feed, you’re not imagining things. Airports are packed, flights are selling out fast, and travellers are making the most of the long break. So, if you’re still planning your Holy Week escape, here’s what’s going on—and how to avoid the last-minute chaos.

With more people travelling this year, the country’s major carriers are expanding their schedules once again. In 2024, over 1 million passengers flew in and out of NAIA during Holy Week. This year, that number is expected to go even higher.
Why? Because revenge travel isn’t over—and summer 2025 is the perfect time for barkada getaways, solo soul-searching trips, and much-needed family bonding.

PAL has rolled out more flights to classic favourites like Caticlan, Coron, and Siargao, with wide-body aircraft assigned to high-demand international routes like Tokyo, Bangkok, and Hong Kong.
If you're aiming for a chill beach trip or a quick overseas escape, PAL's updated schedules might just give you the perfect flight time—if you book fast.
Cebu Pacific
Cebu Pacific is stepping up with additional domestic and regional flights. Their 2025 Holy Week operations include boosted frequencies to Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and Cebu, plus added trips to Taipei, Osaka, and Da Nang.
They’re also continuing to improve connectivity between provinces—so if you’re not flying from Manila, you're not left out.
AirAsia Philippines
While AirAsia didn’t announce a big Holy Week flight expansion, they’ve tweaked their flight timings and maximised seat availability across key local and regional routes. Think Tagbilaran, Iloilo, Bangkok, and Tokyo.
Their advice? Fly during off-peak hours and book early—because their Holy Week seats are going, going, gone.

The 2024 Holy Week rush caught a lot of travellers off guard. This year, here's how to avoid repeating that experience:
Book early – Seats are filling up across all airlines, even on weekdays
Avoid peak departure dates – The days right before and after Holy Week are the most crowded
Fly from alternative hubs – Try Clark or Cebu if Manila flights are full
Stay updated – Airlines often release more seats or new flights closer to the date

The usual summer hotspots are still on top—Boracay, Siargao, Coron, El Nido. But there’s also growing interest in chill, under-the-radar destinations like Siquijor, Dumaguete, and La Union for surfers and café hoppers.
And internationally? Taiwan is a hit thanks to visa-free access, and Japan is still a cherry blossom dream.
