May Delivery Ba? Lets You Know Which Stores are Open for Delivery

“May delivery ba?” is probably the most asked question throughout the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

With mobility restrictions and pre-quarantine nostalgia, we’re left with limited options to satisfy our cravings. So, we’re super thankful for our favourite restaurants, cafés, and bakeries that are offering delivery options during this COVID-19 crisis.

But beyond our cravings, we each have different needs and desires during this quarantine. Groceries. Pet supplies. Vitamins and supplements. Work-from-home essentials. Baby supplies. The list goes on!

Recognising this, Gambit Technologies came up with an app to keep tabs on all the businesses that offer delivery services. Named after the oh-so-famous quarantine question, the crowdsourcing platform is aptly called May Delivery Ba?.

Benjamin Intal, founder and lead developer of Gambit Technologies, shares that May Delivery Ba? is his and Justine Kapunan’s (his sister-in-law) way to support smaller companies and their employees during this crisis.

“We’d like people to know that they can use this app to help businesses thrive and transition to the new normal,” Benjamin shares with TripZilla Philippines. “(Small business owners can even add) their own stores (to our directory). This is to support all types of businesses, especially community sellers and small enterprises.”

Currently, the web app has delivery information on 504 shops catering to different needs. These include food, arts and crafts, car supplies, baby supplies, kitchen supplies, home essentials, clothing and accessories, electronics, appliances, pet supplies, cosmetics, among others.

The app actually depends on crowdsourcing for maximum effectiveness. In other words, you can contribute to the directory, too!

“It’s difficult for us to find and add the smaller establishments, so we need to rely on the owner and their super fans to add them,” says Benjamin.

So, if you know any small businesses that offer delivery services during the quarantine period, feel free to pitch in. Don’t forget to add your go-to local stores to this growing list!

Before May Delivery Ba, Gambit Technologies came out with a similar web app called Bukas Ba Also a crowdsourcing platform, the latter allows people to check for community stores that are operational during the quarantine.

If Disney were creative enough to let Mulan and Melody procreate, Danielle would be that child. From an early age, she has dreamt of becoming a purposeful revolutionary... and an unruly mermaid. While Danielle hasn't held a sword in her lifetime, she feels powerful enough with her byline. Her creative energy is fueled by many things: the quiet right before the rest of the world wakes up, the orange sky as the sun rises during an uncrowded morning surf, the beautiful bitter taste of black coffee, and the threatening reminder of a pending deadline.
