McDonald’s Pulls Out Medium, Large, and BFF Fries Out of Their PH Menu

Sad news, potato lovers. Best-loved fast food chain McDonald’s Philippines recently announced the temporary pull-out of their world-famous fries in three sizes: medium, large, and BFF. As of writing, customers can only order the crowd-favourite snack in its regular size.

The advisory was disclosed on the McDelivery website and mobile application. That said, other food delivery apps also won’t be offering the famous french fries in bigger sizes until further notice.

McDonald’s french fries only available in its smallest size for delivery in Metro Manila

Unfortunately, customers who wish to order McDonald’s french fries can only get them in their smallest size. Regular fries are available for single orders and as an add-on to other meals on official McDonald’s delivery channels. Moreover, expect the same unavailability with delivery service apps such as Grab and foodpanda. Despite the heartbreaking news, you can still munch on other favourites like hamburgers, rice meals, and ice-cold beverages.

We have yet to learn more about the temporary withdrawal of these french fry sizes in the Philippines. However, other McDonald’s franchises, including those in Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, and Japan, have long been serving smaller quantities of their fries due to potato supply issues. Delayed potato shipments have been ongoing since 2021. On top of that, the global pandemic became another major factor in the supply chain dilemma.

Could this be the same reason for McDonald’s Philippines’ sudden pull out of its popular add-on in bigger servings? Regardless, the fast food chain reassures its customers that they’re working to bring back their potato goodness in big sizes once again. Quite a bummer for french fry fans, but we’re hoping they’ll be back much faster than you could say, “Love ko ‘to!”
