Attention, Motorists: Only 1 RFID Needed Across All Expressways Starting July 2024
Starting in July, the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) will implement the use of only one RFID for all expressways in the country. Currently, there are two different operators that require two separate RFIDs for the North and South expressways. But soon, road trip warriors will have an easier time going from north to south and back again on their weekend adventures!

All expressways in the country to use only one RFID starting July
TRB executive director Alvin Carullo announced to the press on Monday, 8 January, that motorists who use the tollways only need one account to set up one RFID tag on their vehicle.
This new implementation is the company’s effort to make tollway transactions cashless and seamless; shortening long queues on the tollway plazas.
To date, San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation operate both the North and South expressways. SMC uses AutoSweep for all Southbound trips, while MPTC uses EasyTrip for all Northbound trips.
Test runs will start Wednesday, 10 Jan 2024.
For new motorists with no RFID yet, registration can be done online for free.
