Staycations in Manila Are Only Allowed in These Hotels Amid Pandemic

If you’re from or anywhere near the Philippine capital, having a staycation in Manila is one of the best things to do when you want to get away from your usual routine. In fact, if you have the resources, all you have to do is book a room in any hotel in Metro Manila — there’s plenty of them at your disposal!

Now, it’s a little trickier. Among other things, you have to make sure that these Manila hotels are accredited to operate for staycations in the new normal.

The Department of Tourism (DOT), headed by Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, previously made it clear that quarantine hotels aren’t to be used for staycations. Also, being a government-accredited hotel does not automatically entitle one to accept leisure guests at this time.

Currently, booking a staycation in Manila is limited to guests aged 18 years old above. They must also be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Otherwise, you must present a negative RT-PCR test taken not more than two days before check-in.
