There are many debates surrounding dogs versus cats: Which one reigns supreme? Which is better as a pet? Can’t you love them both equally?
Most of these questions, we don’t have the answer to. But to end the ongoing argument of which is more popular, Budget Direct Pet Insurance just revealed a study on every country’s preferences for pets!

Budget Direct Pet Insurance studied Instagram hashtags and geolocation data to analyse which pet people like more. According to the study, 91 countries are fonder of cats; 76 countries, including the Philippines, prefer dogs.
In the Philippines, the fight of dogs versus cats is close. As per Instagram hashtags, dogs reign over cats by only 11.8%.
Taguig leads the most cat-loving destination in the Philippines. The city ranks as the 175th city with the most cat-related hashtags in the world. Taguig is followed by Manila (250th city), then Quezon City (380th city).
These three cities are also the ones with the most dog-related hashtags in the Philippines. Apparently, Quezon City is the most dog-loving city in the Philippines when you look at the geolocation data. It ranks 442nd in the world with the most dog-related hashtags; Manila ranks 549th; Taguig ranks 623rd.

We know that Instagram hashtags can never measure our love for our fur pals, but this study definitely provides us with a glimpse into the best cities with photogenic pets.
