Don’t miss this chance!

Do you remember that time when Blue Magic felt like the place to be? When walking past its shelves meant overthinking which stuffed toy to pick, what colour would say the right thing, and whether a teddy bear was romantic enough or already too much. Back then, giving someone a plush toy felt like a serious relationship move.
These days, it makes you wonder. Do people still believe in things like a “breakup curse”? Or was it just one of those shared teenage myths that felt very real when emotions were big and everything meant something more?
Joy remembers it clearly. She once received a stuffed toy from her high school sweetheart, a gift that, at the time, symbolised affection, effort, and kilig all rolled into one. Not long after, they broke up, and that was when she first heard whispers about the so called Blue Magic breakup curse.
Years after her breakup, Joy heard speculations about couples who’ve gifted each other . “Sabi nila pag niregaluhan ka raw ng , mag-bebreak kayo,” she said.
Of course, Joy took this lightly. She stressed that her previous relationship was a product of puppy love and was bound to end eventually. “Usually, mga bata o estudyante yung nagbibigayan ng . Kaya most likely, mag-bebreak din sila,” she concluded.

While we were tempted to believe the same, we decided to take this theory to test. In February 2021, we asked our TripZilla readers if they were still together with those who gave them a gift. Here’s what some of you said.
