The pandemic really hit board game cafes in the Philippines hard. Most cafe owners had to halt operations indefinitely, only to never come back. Playing board games flourished as an activity for friends but most haunts went to close down. Today, some of the former board game cafes repurposed their stocks and decided to open up game stores instead. But there is still hope yet, especially with the emergence of newer establishments.
