Confession: No matter how much older I get, I still get nervous about lighting matches and using lighters. Because of this fear, I was pretty sure I wouldn’t ever hop on the scented candle trend — that is, until I learned about an incredible invention called the candle warmer. (And yes, you can easily buy one in the Philippines! (And yes, you can buy one in the Philippines!)
If you haven’t heard of it yet, then a candle warmer (or candle warmer lamp, as others call it) is basically a lamp that melts a candle and brings out its scent via a halogen bulb. You plug it in, place your candle underneath the bulb, turn it on, and voila! Within minutes, your room will smell like your desired fragrance — minus the fire, smoke, and soot.

After discovering the beauty of candle warmers, finding the perfect one became my newest obsession. I needed to know everything before purchasing one, as it turned out that not only were there many sizes and designs to choose from; there are actually a number of different types of candle warmer lamps on the market as well.
As for where to buy candle warmers in the Philippines? Lazada and Shopee are your go-to platforms, with plenty of styles to choose from.

Without any added features, this type will simply get the job done. It’s a regular candle warming lamp with a set height, a base for your candle, and an on/off switch. Plus points: It’ll serve as an #aesthetic addition to your room!

Now, this is the one I selected for myself! The only difference between this candle warmer and the basic type is that it comes with a dimming switch. This additional feature really comes in handy, as it allows me to adjust the lamp’s brightness according to my preference.

Additionally, this is also the version I stumbled across most in my search for the perfect one. You’ll find that this particular kind of candle warmer comes in various designs: lamps with wooden, metallic, and marble bases — and even those with crystal lamp shades! They also come in various sizes, which are often based on how big the diameter of the base is.

In addition to a dimming switch, this type of warmer comes with a timer that will let it automatically turn off after a set amount of time. You can choose from three settings: one hour, two hours, or four hours. If you’re worried about accidentally leaving your candle melting overnight, this feature is a must-have.

If you already own a candle warmer with a dimming switch, you can level it up with the help of a smart plug. With a WiFi-powered socket that connects to an app on your phone, you can schedule on and off times for your devices. This means you’ll have more flexibility beyond the usual one, two, or four hours. Pretty awesome, right?

Different candles come in different sizes — so there isn’t exactly a one-fits-all kind of warming lamp. This particular type of warmer allows you to adjust the brightness and lampshade’s height to your liking.
The catch? They have a smaller base diameter, so in that sense, they’re still better suited for small candles. But if you don’t mind this at all, then this makes for an excellent choice!
