1. Jeju-do – South Korea

Travelling to the picturesque volcanic island of Jeju-do in South Korea undoubtedly makes for a relaxing summer vacation. You’re in luck if you want to escape the sweltering heat back home! Jeju-do typically experiences moderate temperatures and moderate rainfall starting in March. As the cold winter season transitions to spring, you can expect chilly and breezy weather throughout your trip. Aside from Jeju-do and Gangwon-do, Philippine passport holders also have visa-free access to the coastal province of Jeollanam-do in South Korea! From March to May, it generally has temperatures that range from cold to moderate, with moderate rainfall.

Thus, the months of March to May make it ideal for wandering through the city without experiencing scorching summer heat or freezing winter. Here, the daily average low is at 15°C and the average high is at about 22°C.

Moreover, March to May witnesses mildly cool weather and gentle breezes, with temperatures ranging from 17°C to 29°C. Generally, April to May is an ideal time to visit the country, but do note that whatever time of the year, temperatures can drop dramatically overnight. 

9. Almaty – Kazakhstan

The weather in Almaty, Kazakhstan during March starts to warm up, and the city begins to come alive after wintertime. In April and May, the weather becomes even milder, with daily average temperatures ranging from 10°C to 20°C. Nonetheless, it’s one of the most ideal cool-weather visa-free destinations for Filipinos who want to escape the sweltering summer heat. 

Explore the city’s countless attractions like the Almaty Arbat, a pedestrian shopping street lined with local boutiques and cafes, take a ride on the iconic cable car to Kok-Tobe Hill, or escape to the nearby mountains for skiing and hiking opportunities. 

10. Cameron Highlands – Malaysia

For a refreshing and quick escape from the tropical heat, consider travelling to Cameron Highlands in Malaysia! Here, average daily temperatures range from 7°C to 21°C from March to May. While the region starts to experience the onset of the rainy season, expect warm mornings with sporadic showers in the afternoon. 

From Kuala Lumpur, it takes approximately three to four hours to get to the highlands.
