A quiet Bataan beach turned into a crime scene after police seized 118 kilos of shabu worth ₱802M, abandoned near a lighthouse.

If you’ve ever tried booking a passport renewal or completing your National ID registration in Metro Manila, you already know the struggle. Appointment slots can be limited, rescheduling happens, and sudden office closures are not uncommon. Here’s what affected applicants need to know when services in NCR are temporarily suspended.
In previous advisories, the Philippine Statistics Authority’s Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) has announced temporary closures of registration centres in NCR due to operational or policy-related reasons. Affected applicants are usually advised to rebook their appointments through the official PhilSys website once new slots become available.

Applicants with appointments outside NCR are still encouraged to monitor official PhilSys announcements, as schedules and site operations may change.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has likewise issued advisories in the past regarding temporary closures and limited operations of its NCR offices. During such periods, only select DFA sites, often including DFA Aseana, may continue accommodating passport and authentication appointments. Walk-ins are typically not accepted.
When appointments are affected by these closures, the DFA usually advises applicants to wait for email notifications regarding rescheduled slots or to check the official DFA appointment system for updates.

The temporary suspensions of these offices are in accordance with IATF guidelines.
