Discounted Beep card launch will officially start on September 20, 2025 (after postponement from Sept 15 due to system issues). Students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PWDs) can enjoy cheaper train rides with a special Beep card that automatically applies fare discounts. No need to queue for single-journey discount tickets every time you travel. Just tap and go.
The Department of Transportation says the discount will be programmed into the card, which works on MRT-3, LRT-1, LRT-2 and even at other partner merchants. The cards are personalised, valid for two years, and meant for personal use only. Using someone else’s card can lead to confiscation and penalties.
