Local Pet Café Makes Dog-Inspired Cakes Along With Other Treats

Studying posts on Instagram, Australian pet insurance provider Budget Direct found that the Philippines is among 76 countries whose citizens prefer dogs over cats. That being said, dog-friendly establishments around the country aren’t hard to come by.

Take Barkin’ Blends, for example. Aside from being known for its café that lets you play with dogs, you might be surprised that it also owns a bakery (or what they call barkery) that makes dog-inspired treats for your furbabies.

Dog cakes and other pastries

Barkin’ Blends was the first to introduce the dog café concept in the Philippines. At their facilities in Metro Manila and Rizal, you can bond with dogs of various breeds while enjoying their selection of goods and drinks. But since the pandemic, the café started focusing on selling baked goods for delivery.

They began with doughnuts, muffins, waffles, burgers, and num-nums in the shape of paws and bones. Now, they also take pride in face topper dog cakes. Basically, these are cakes that come with a sculpted piece on top designed after your pet for a personalised touch.

Check out some of their designs below.

Barkin’ Blends also sells minimalist dog cakes and cupcakes (or what they call “pupcakes”), and party set packages for special occasions. Most importantly, they boast of using only healthy organic ingredients so your pets are guaranteed safe even while being pampered with treats!

How much and how to order

To avail Barkin’ Blends’ doggo face topper cakes, just add ₱299 to any six-inch doggo cake order. Each cake is priced at ₱449. Be sure to send them a clear photo (preferably face-on) of your pet for the best results.

The doggo cakes and party packages must be pre-ordered at least one day before pick-up. You can send their bakery a message on their Instagram, Facebook, or website for orders. They’re also available for delivery via the pabili services of Grab and Lalamove.
