Our favourite places to stay on this sleepy Cebu island.
Let’s be honest—when you think of Boracay, what comes to mind? White Beach, wild parties, endless sunsets, and probably that one photo spot everyone posts on Instagram. But what if I told you there’s a calm, quiet side to this island that almost no one talks about?
Welcome to Lugutan Mangrove Park—a peaceful pocket of nature tucked away in the northeast part of Boracay. It’s not flashy, it’s not loud, and that’s exactly why I love it.

Boracay’s main beaches are beautiful, no doubt. But sometimes, all
the noise and the crowd can get a little too much. Lugutan Mangrove Park feels like you’ve suddenly stepped into a completely different world—calm, green, and healing.
The best part? Hardly anyone’s there. So if you’re the type who enjoys quiet walks, spotting birds, or just sitting in nature without distractions, this place is gold.
This park isn’t just for photos (although, yes, the view is chef’s kiss). It was created to protect Boracay’s mangrove forests, which play a huge role in keeping the island’s ecosystem healthy. These trees help prevent erosion, support marine life, and even keep the air cleaner.
So when you walk through the park’s wooden pathways, you’re not just sightseeing—you’re witnessing a slice of Boracay that’s working quietly behind the scenes to keep the island beautiful.

There’s a wooden boardwalk that winds through the mangroves, perfect for slow strolls and peaceful moments. You’ll hear birds chirping, feel the sea breeze, and maybe spot a few crabs crawling around the roots. It’s simple, but it’s the kind of simplicity that reminds you to just breathe.
Heads up though—it’s not a commercialised area. No fancy cafes or shops. Just you, nature, and maybe a local or two fishing nearby. So bring water, wear comfy shoes, and take your time.

Let’s be real: we’re all about discovering hidden gems and places that feel exclusive, right? Lugutan Mangrove Park gives you that sense of discovery—without the need for long hikes or boat rides. And if you’re into eco-travel or just want to support sustainable tourism, this is such a solid choice.
It’s also a beautiful reminder that there’s more to Boracay than parties and powdery white sand. The island has layers, and this one is quiet, meaningful, and super underrated.

It’s located near Tambisaan Jetty Port. You can hire a tricycle or rent a bike to get there. Ask locals—they know the way and are usually happy to help. Plus, it’s always nice to have a little chat with the people who actually live there.
