This Local IG Shop Sells ’90s Candy Scented Candles

We’d be lying if we said that these highly uncertain times don’t make us yearn for our childhood days. You know, back when everything felt simpler and easier? Aside from nostalgic TV shows and old hobbies, another thing we vividly remember is the sweets. Specifically, those Pinoy ’90s candy brands that loved to snack on after school!

Well, what if we told you that there’s an Instagram shop that offers such candy scented candles? Allow us to introduce you to Saliw PH’s Tamis ng Kahapon Collection. It’s basically a revival of your fave childhood sweets — except now, they come in the form of yummy scents.

About these locally handcrafted candy scented candles

The Tamis ng Kahapon Collection features the following “flavours” for that much-needed whiff of nostalgia:

  • Tsok-Nut
  • How How de Carabao
  • Basooka
  • Piper’s Bater Bol
  • Cherry Boom Boom

Each of these candy scented candles come in a 145mL sari-sari store garapon, as the brand calls it. The labels were even designed by local visual artist, Monica Cabungcal! Take your pick between set or solo orders.

For every purchase, you’ll also get a special postcard and a curated Spotify playlist of OPM songs from the ’80s and ’90s. How’s that for reliving the good ol’ days of Sony Walkmans and MP3 players

The Lakbay Collection features iconic Philippine destinations such as Vigan, Palawan, and Sagada. For those who miss travelling locally, this is surely something you don’t wanna miss.

There’s also the Biyahe Collection, which takes you on a sensory journey through the jeepney routes of Metro Manila. Commuting back in pre-pandemic times? Man, what a concept.
