Cheers to a whopping number of 20 holidays and 13 long weekends in the Philippines! Filipinos have all reasons to rejoice this 2015 as well! Feeling the vacation vibe? Plan your getaways now!

If you're flying to the Middle East from the Philippines soon, it’s time to double-check your itinerary. Philippine Airlines (PAL) has suspended several flights due to the rising tensions between Israel and Iran, which have triggered heightened security concerns across the region. The escalating conflict has led to airspace closures and restrictions, directly affecting flight paths to key Middle Eastern destinations. As a result, PAL decided to prioritise passenger safety by temporarily cancelling several routes.
Meanwhile, Cebu Pacific has confirmed that it will continue its scheduled flights to Dubai, providing a travel alternative for affected passengers who still need to fly to the region.

On June 24, 2025, Philippine Airlines released an official advisory announcing the cancellation of multiple flights to and from the Middle East. The affected routes include Manila to Doha (PR 684), Manila to Dubai and return (PR 658/659), and Manila to Riyadh and return (PR 654/655).
The airline also confirmed that the Doha to Manila (PR 685) flight, scheduled for June 25, has been cancelled. These cancellations come amid rising security risks and operational challenges caused by the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, which has led to airspace disruptions and growing uncertainty across the region.
In its statement, PAL cited the developing situation as the reason behind the suspension and emphasised that the move was made out of an abundance of caution. The airline also assured the public that it is in constant coordination with international aviation authorities, air traffic regulators, and Philippine government agencies to assess and respond to the evolving conditions.
If your flight is one of the affected routes, PAL strongly advises that you do not proceed to the airport. Instead, the airline offers several options to help you adjust your plans:
Rebook your flight within 60 days from the original date, in the same or higher booking class within the same cabin.
Convert your ticket into travel credits, valid for one year and equivalent to the unused base fare.
Refund your ticket without penalties, although service charges will not be refunded.
You can manage your booking and see the latest flight advisory by visiting the official Philippine Airlines website or checking their verified social media pages.

In contrast to PAL’s cancellations, Cebu Pacific has confirmed that its Dubai flights continue as scheduled. The budget carrier stated that its flight paths do not pass over conflict-affected airspace, and it remains committed to operating safely.
However, Cebu Pacific does not offer flights to Riyadh or Doha, making Dubai the only Middle East destination currently served by the airline. They have promised to monitor the situation and issue updates closely should anything change.

The current situation is a reminder of how global events can disrupt even well-laid travel plans. Whether you're flying with Philippine Airlines or Cebu Pacific, keeping informed is essential. Always check for the latest PAL flight cancellations, advisories, and safety protocols before your trip.
For now, if you need to travel to the region, Cebu Pacific Dubai flights may be your best option. Just make sure to stay flexible and informed, especially when travelling during uncertain times.
