Help Joseph Gordon-Levitt Describe This Philippine Photo for His Travel Series

Calling the attention of Filipino writers! Hollywood actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt is seeking your help to write a short story about a Philippine photo that just may get your work featured in his Passport Poems series.

In a Facebook post on 15 Aug 2020, the 500 Days of Summer star shared a photo of a boat floating still in the waters of Sorsogon against a stunning pinkish purple sky. “I need someone to write a sentence or two that tells the story of this beautiful moment in Donsol. If you feel like doing some writing, post your story here,” Levitt briefly said in the caption.

Those who wish to contribute can do so via this page on HITRECORD, Levitt’s self-initiated community for creative professionals. According to the website, the Passport Poems series aims to use travel photography to “inspire pieces of writing that will combine to result in cool pieces of graphic design.”

As of writing, over 1,000 entries have already been submitted, with each one showing a unique take on the photo. Some talked about Donsol’s whale sharks, while others highlighted the fishermen of Sorsogon. No deadline for submission was indicated. However, the HITRECORD link remains open for contributions at the time of publication.
