Would You Buy a Shirt to Help Feed and Vaccinate a Stray Animal? Here’s How

The last time the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) did the math, there were at least 12 million stray cats and dogs in the Philippines. And this was back in 2019. Until effective animal welfare laws are put in place and more lawmakers actually listen, this number will keep growing.

As for the fortunate few that have been rescued, their battle doesn’t stop with finding a home or shelter. They need to be fed properly, take their medicines, and get vaccinated, neutered, or spayed. As part of its continuous call to provide these animals the care they deserve, Pawssion Project partnered with Drip & Ratchet to sell shirts for a cause.

Pawssion Project is a non-profit organisation that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs in distress. They have facilities in both Bacolod and Bulacan, which now cater to rescued cats as well. Meanwhile, Drip & Ratchet is an up-and-coming apparel brand that also supports animal welfare in the Philippines.

According to recent updates, Pawssion Project houses a few hundred cats and dogs in its two shelters, all of which need regular care. By purchasing a shirt made by Drip & Ratchet, you can help vaccinate the former’s rescues, among other needs. What’s more, each shirt only costs ₱500.

“Just by simply buying a shirt, you have no idea how much life you can save,” says Drip & Ratchet on their official Facebook page. “Together let’s help Pawssion achieve their [sic] long-term and on-going goals. Proceeds will aid operational costs in running both shelters including pet food, medicines, vet bills, and [sic] rescue operations.”

The available Pawssion Project shirts are available in both black and white, and they also come in different prints. One of the designs features one of Pawssion Project’s main slogans, “adopt, don’t shop”, which encourages everyone to adopt animals in need rather than buying from pet stores and other shops.
