Your Philippine Passport is the 78th Most Powerful in the World in 2023

Heads up, the Philippines’ passport ranking is out! The verdict: We have the 78th most powerful passport in the world, rising two spots from last year’s ranking by Henley & Partners. The London-based investment migration consultancy released the 2023 Henley Passport Index, ranking the strongest and weakest passports in the world of the year.

Evaluating 199 countries and 227 destinations, the report assesses passports based on the number of destinations that holders can access without applying for a visa. As of January 2023, the Philippine passport grants Filipinos visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 67 destinations around the world. The Philippines shares the 78th spot with Uganda.

There are very few things Celia won’t do for a good story, but her favourite ones always involve the beach, animals, or any type of outdoor activity. She’s been writing for as long as she can remember, and can usually be found typing away at home with her cute dogs at her feet. Away from work, she spends most of her time trying out every hobby she can get her hands on, from running to crocheting to baking (she’s pretty okay at most things that don't involve cooking).
