The only plastic we need for travel.

Song mashup memes have been flooding social media timelines for years, and they’re not going anywhere. Combining lyrics from different songs—sometimes old hits, sometimes viral tracks—these memes spark nostalgia, surprise, and even random solo e-karaoke sessions. Recently, Filipino YouTuber Toni Fowler’s rap tracks have added a new twist, giving memers outrageous material to remix over other popular songs for maximum laughs.
Anyone who’s been on Facebook or Twitter since the weekend has probably chanced upon a set of song lyrics hilariously put together in a photo. Often featuring two or more songs by different artists, song mashup memes have put some of us in a crazy, nostalgic LSS mode (no shame, though), which some say is paving the way for random yet fun solo e-karaoke sessions.
A song mashup meme recipe goes something like this: pick two songs that vibe together—whether by beat, rhyme, or overall flow—choose the lyrics you want, and layer them over screenshots, album covers, or viral video clips. Some creators now add Toni Fowler tracks for extra absurdity and comedy, overlaying her raunchy rap lines on other songs to shock and amuse. Finally, share it online and watch it spread.
Except for the certain old video of Ate Gay slaying on-stage mashups, there’s no telling how this wave of song mashup memes started. But as to why they trended and continue to trend, well, I guess being locked up in our homes for an extended period is partly to blame. Boredom struck us all hard, basically. That being said, here’s a compilation of some of our favourite song mashup memes to brighten up your week.

These memes aren’t just about nostalgia—they’ve evolved with social media trends. Toni Fowler, a Filipino YouTube vlogger who releases rap and hip-hop music with vulgar, sexually explicit lyrics, has become a new source of meme content. Fans often remix her songs with other tracks, producing absurdly funny mashups that keep feeds alive and fresh. Fowler’s music has brought a fresh comedic angle to song mashup memes, inspiring memers to push boundaries even further.
