How to Check Your Voter Registration Status & Reactivate Your Record

Halalan 2022 is fast approaching — have you registered to vote yet? If your answer is that yes, you did so a long time ago, we can imagine that you might be unsure about your current voter registration status.

Wondering if your record is still active? No need to make your way to your local COMELEC office; you can simply send  an inquiry via email.

How to inquire about your voter registration status

Email your respective Office of the Election Officer (OEO) and let them know you’d like to know the status of your record. Provide them with the following details: your full name, date of birth, complete address, and contact number. Note that the office will ask for additional information in case you don’t supply them with complete details.

If you’ve submitted all the necessary information, simply wait for a reply from your designated OEO. They will respond to you with your voter registration status, voting centre, and precinct number.

You can find the contact details for the OEO that corresponds to your city and district here. (For example, those who reside in Marikina District 1 may email marikina1st@comelec.gov.ph. If you’re unsure about your district, you can get in touch with your respective regional COMELEC office.)

What to do if your record has been deactivated

If you failed to vote during two consecutive elections, then your record is automatically deactivated. Those with deactivated records are urged to reactivate them before the end of voter registration (30 Oct 2021).

Fortunately, it’s possible to reactivate your record online. The following virtual submissions are accommodated:

  • Reactivation of record
  • Reactivation with correction of entries
  • Reactivation with transfer within the same city, municipality, or district and correction of entries
  • Reactivation with updating of records of senior citizens, PWDs, and PDLs

Steps for online reactivation

  1. Download the CEF-1 form from the COMELEC’s official website. Print it out and fill it up manually. (Senior citizens, PWDs, and PDLs will also need to fill out a supplementary form.)
  2. Scan the form, along with both sides of your valid ID.
  3. Send all the scanned documents to your designated Office of the Election Officer via email.
  4. You will receive an email from the OEO with a schedule for an online interview and oath-taking. This will be held via Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Viber, or Facebook Messenger.

Take note that if your biometrics are unavailable or corrupted, you will be asked to make a personal appearance in order to update your record.
