‘Your New Morning Alarm’: YouTuber Makes Song to Wake Up Sleepyheads

Not a morning person? How many times do you snooze your morning alarm, only to wake up almost an hour later? Before you know it, you’re late for work… again. We bring you good news: Your new morning alarm is here — and we’re told it works!

But it’s neither an alarm tone found on your phone, nor is it a device that holds the secret to waking up on time. It’s actually a song aptly titled Your New Morning Alarm, and you can find it on YouTube.

Your New Morning Alarm is a song created by American musician and YouTuber Marc Rebillet, who is known for viral bops that have taken the Internet by storm. Rebillet, who has 1.47 million subscribers on YouTube to date, has gained traction thanks to catchy, ultramodern tunes that mostly fall under the musical genres electronic, club, and techno. Here and there, you’ll also catch Rebillet injecting slow blues and pop-rock into his work; hint: wait for the moment you hear the bass drop in his songs.

Your New Morning Alarm & other catchy songs

Perhaps inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic’s slow and sleepy burn, Your New Morning Alarm threatens to jumpstart your day with the wake-up call that you need. As Rebillet simply puts it, “Get the f*ck out of bed, b*tch, go!” Donning a bright red house robe with adorable alpaca prints, Rebillet rocks that work-from-home vibe that some struggle with to this day. Your New Morning Alarm now boasts over eight million views (and counting).

Did we mention Rebillet’s songs are punctuated by lyrics that are often witty and comical? Take, for example, Vaccinated Attitude — a song that makes COVID-19 vaccination sound quite, for the lack of a better word, sexy. Fair warning, though: Vaccinated Attitude has some lyrics that are definitely #NSFW!

The solo musical act also shows range with less controversial songs (with lyrics that are safer for work but are just as relatable) such as the sweet serenade You Were There. Support artists and creators on YouTube; get to know Marc and his work here.

Alyosha Robillos

In Russia, Alyosha is a boy's name popularised by literary greats Dostoevsky and Tolstoy—but this particular Alyosha is neither Russian nor a boy. She is a writer from the Philippines who loves exploring the world as much as she likes staying at home. Her life's mission is to pet every friendly critter there is. When she isn't busy doing that, she sniffs out stories and scribbles away on the backs of old receipts. She is an advocate of many things: culture and heritage, the environment, skincare and snacking, to name a few. She will work for lifetime supplies of french fries and coffee. Or yogurt. Or cheese, preferably Brie.
