4 Philippine Islands Named Among Asia’s Top Tourist Destinations in 2024
The Philippines has once again proven its appeal to global travellers, as four of its islands have been ranked among the Top 10 Islands in Asia for 2024 in the prestigious 2024 Condé Nast Traveler’s Readers’ Choice Awards. The islands that made it to the list are Boracay, Palawan, Cebu and the Visayan Islands, and Siargao, solidifying the country's reputation as one of the premier island destinations in the world.

This recognition is a testament to the Philippines' unparalleled natural beauty and vibrant culture, according to Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco. "We are immensely grateful to global travellers who have chosen the Philippines and continue to explore the natural beauty and vibrant culture of our islands," she said. The country has earned the distinction of being the ASEAN nation with the most islands on the list, further elevating its status as a must-visit destination in Asia.
The 2024 Readers’ Choice Awards saw Boracay ranked 3rd in Asia with a score of 91.94, followed by Palawan in 6th place with 90.68, Cebu and the Visayan Islands in 8th place with 90.29, and Siargao completing the top 10 with 89.2. These islands shared the list with other renowned destinations such as Koh Samui, Thailand (93.5) and Langkawi, Malaysia (92.14).
Boracay, known for its powdery white sand beaches and vibrant nightlife, continues to draw in tourists from all over the world. Palawan, often referred to as the “last frontier” of the Philippines, offers stunning limestone cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and world-class diving spots. The Cebu and Visayan Islands are famous for their rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and beautiful coastal areas. Meanwhile, Siargao has earned a reputation as the country's surfing capital, attracting both adventure seekers and nature lovers alike.
Frasco emphasised that these accolades reflect not only the natural beauty of the islands but also the diverse experiences they offer, from cultural influences to world-class cuisine. "We are honoured by the global recognition and committed to preserving the natural and cultural treasures of our islands," she said.
